The type installed in your home will depend on your home’s requirements and current heating system. Combination Boilers Combination boilers are connected to the main water supply and are constantly on standby, once a tap is turned on the boiler will heat the water through a heat exchanger. Therefore, there is no need for a separate hot water cylinder or cold water tank. Due to the size of a combi boiler, they are perfect for homes with little space. Combi boilers are available in all fuel types and here at EnergyCare Group, we only supply boilers from top of the range manufacturers including Worcester Bosch and Vaillant. Open Vented Boiler (standard/regular) Also known as conventional, standard or regular, open vented boilers feature a traditional set-up which includes a heating system, hot water cylinder and cold water storage tank. These types of boilers are obviously a lot larger than other types such as combi boilers. A standard boiler may be suggested in older homes as the existing system is most likely standard and therefore installation is made easier and quicker. An open vented boiler may also be advised if you live in a large house or a house with low water pressure. Sealed System Boiler Sealed System boilers are seen as a combination of a standard and combi boiler. A hot water cylinder is needed for a system boiler, however, rather than be stored in an external unit it is stored within the boiler similar to a combi boiler. This type may be suggested for the busier home such as those with multiple bathrooms as they are more powerful than a combi boiler. Due to being quite compact they are ideal for the smaller home such as those without any loft space. All boilers available from EnergyCare Group are from the top manufacturers including Worcester Bosch and Vaillant.
